Sorry for the second reply -- but I just stumbled across the LEGO Racers Super
Speedway Game, which seems similar.  In fact if nothing else, that game might be
a good way to get 5 carts for your Go-Kart Racing game.  :)

Have you looked at that one?  How do they compare?

From reading the reviews at Amazon, one advantage to playing with real road
plates would be that you can actually drive your car around the track.  I do
like the idea of powerups you can attach to your car, though.  I wonder how they
keep these from simply giving the first car an even greater advantage?

One thing you could do with real road plates, would be to include some
T-intersections, so that there are alternate routes along the track.  But of
course the shorter route would be filled with hazards, and/or the longer route
would have the power-ups, so it wouldn't be an obvious choice.

I'm starting to like this idea the more I think about it... can't wait to see
your rule set!
