Re: Pirate Game at East Coast Brickfest

(...) ...errrrr... Steve may be coming? As in Steve Jackson? (...) ...I'm all for it! All I've got at the moment are a couple of basic pirate ships, but that'll still be fun! :-) ...you can go back to ignoring me now... wubwub stephen f roberts (...)   Re: Pirate Game at East Coast Brickfest

(...) I e-mailed Steve over the weekend, and will be sending him an SSAE today to get copies of the GM charts. He also expressed some interest in coming to the Brickfest, though he said his June schedule is tight. Please let me know if we want to (...)   Re: big brikwars game...

(...) Actually, I don't think that would be so bad. You copuld clear out the bunker by poping an mkII missles off a bazooka, and through the window. That would make a few fig unhappy... Pearson (24 years ago, 13-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Pirate Game (was Re: big brikwars game..)

(...) Airships probably wouldn't fit in too well. The Pirate Game is relatively non-fantastic (though not totally so). (...) Depending on how many players we have, I may be able to supply all the ships. I can almost certainly supply all the (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Pirate Game (was Re: big brikwars game..)

(...) Definitely colour me there and interested, even if I *can't* use _Gloire_. ;) I can put together other ships on fairly short notice. I'll even give 'em two boats each, so I can kedge around. Oh, and I can bring some snakes if we want to make (...) (24 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Pirate Game (was Re: big brikwars game..)

(...) Oooh!! Yes, I'd be interested! Hmmm... I'd have to make some Pirate ships for it... Would Airships (a la Final Fantasy) be okay? ;) We were also thinking of a Medieval/Fantasy Brickwars game. Would there be interest in that as well? Jeff (24 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Pirate Game (was Re: big brikwars game..)

(...) Would there be an interest in the Pirate Game also? I'd be willing to run that (and can provide plenty of ships). That would be another good round the clock type game. (24 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: big brikwars game...

I have to agree with Mike here ... when I first read the initial posting, I shuddered at the prospect of a huge game. Our second NELUG game (the one that we finished) took about 4 hours to play to conclusion (11:30 to 5:00, with about an hour for (...) (24 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: big brikwars game...

(...) You've got to watch out, a game like this is going to get bogged down by inexperienced players fielding bigger armies than they can handle. What you might want to do is set a 20-30 minute time limit on each player's turn - this will serve to (...) (24 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: big brikwars game...

(...) ...They'd have an overwhelming advantage, but specially if we use the divide by points fielded idea, they still wouldn't necessarily come out best. And if we have several target areas spread out by >30", if the player with 200 pts wanted to (...) (24 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: big brikwars game...

(...) I was thinking of a "Last man standing" kinda thing. Basically, just try to take out all vehicles/troops, and whoever has the most points at the end wins. Points would be equal to the CPs of the enemy units destroyed. I've been thinking about (...) (24 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  big brikwars game...

...We were going to do some Brikwars at the East Coast Brikfest (june 9-11, join lugnet.org.us.wamalug for info), Jeff proposed a 'round the clock/continuous game' kind of thing. So I'm posting my initial ideas for how to structure this thing to get (...) (24 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  LEGO compatible fantasy war game?

This site may be old news to veteran wargamers, but others might not know about it. The Warp Spawn Game site is a site I've visited several times in the past. Here is the URL: (URL) I've used some of the rules on this site in the past, namely Green (...) (24 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: BrikWars Update

(...) Well, it's mentioned briefly at the tail end of the Rifles section (2.2.2). I don't think there's anything in the Pistols or Lasers section, maybe I'll add those when I'm done moving back down to Los Angeles. (...) Shoot! You just reminded me (...) (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: BrikWars Update

(...) :D I admit it, I got the idea of the chaingun from Starsiege Tribes... :) The EMP idea was just a general idea I had, though... (...) That sounds interesting! ;) (...) I must've missed this part in the rules. Its in there, right? (...) Well, (...) (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: BrikWars Update

(...) Thanks! (...) Playing a lot of first-person shooters lately, are we? (Funny thing, you might find this hard to believe, but we've been kicking around an idea to include minifig DeathMatch rules when we expand chapter 10.) For EMP weapons, we (...) (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: BrikWars Update

(...) There are any number of different ways to do it, depending on the gun, and the attention span of the player building it. Your way is one perfectly good way (this is one of those areas that fits under the 'fudge everything you can get away (...) (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: BrikWars Update

(...) Cool! I just glanced at it, but it looks really good!! :) BTW, have you ever thought of EMP weapons and Chainguns? I think both of these could be valuable additions to the Brikwars arsenal. Jeff (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)

(...) ...public corruption? :-) <CHOP> (...) ...Special this week! Buildings 80% off!!! ...Ok, now I have a question and how I handled it during our last game. How do you 'make' a fig portable gun? ...In our last game, I had a Mk II balistik that (...) (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.gaming)
