Yea, well he probably thinks you smell funny too... (how often did
pirates take baths? :-) :-) :-)

I agree with Frank's observations above, although he already
knows that I do!  I know that I would be perfectly willing to
devote my being to helping set up/move things the night before,
or in the morning.  Frank, I don't know what your arrangements
are, but perhaps a few of us who are most Pirate-Game-covetous
ought to share a room or somesuch to keep the logistics simple,
and to retreat to if we don't have lockable space.

Chris and I shared a room last year, and we definitely took at least
some advantage of that, though most of it was a postmortem Sunday
morning over breakfast.

So if we can start the day before, or even in the morning of
Saturday, with our setup all the better.  I teach T and Th so
I can arrive early on Friday and leave late on Sunday.  (Oh,
yes, and the K-8s demand early attention...we've got to make
range sticks and pilfer ship and island parts for the Game! ;) )

I'm planning on making up some range sticks ahead of time. Mine may even
be numbered (seeing as my 60s 1x1 bricks with numbers haven't found
their way into a creation yet, they are available for loan to range
sticks).

Anyways, let me know--perhaps the Pirate devotees can talk
about it in detail if we have our Mini-Game in June?  (I do
   hope that's still on!)

I'm sincerely hoping I will still be able to do the June event,
unfortunately right now they are real stingy on vacation due to our work
load. Things might possibly be worse in June (and heck, they could still
be in the ditch in July, but by that time frame I'm banking on them
realizing they need to let people go for a day or two, 4 or 5 months
without some time off will result in some really stressed people). If
there was any way we could get the June Piratefest to happen closer to
the DC area, that could dramatically increase my chance of being able to
attend (it would then be practical to drive up Friday after work).

Fortunately for all this, though I am taking three weekends in a row
this month, I'm only getting a half day off (wanted at least a day and a
half - oh well), and don't have anything planned for May yet (other than
possibly crashing Richlug's meeting, but that can be done with just a
Saturday - though I might try to arrange driving up Friday and crashing
somewhere Friday night either with a Richlugger or with other friends I
have in Richmond).

Of course if you all wanted to come down here, we could combine the
Pirate Game with Deadlands and use my apartment as an approximation of
The Maze (hmmmmm..... thoughts starting to gel.... you know, using the
Pirate Game rules in The Maze ala Deadlands has some serious
possibilities, and hey, the minifigs and weapons would be a lot easier
to come by.... hmmmmm.... I was trying to come up with a scenario....
hmmmm.... Of course I'd have to write some magic rules... And someone
would have to build some Junks, and of course we'd need a Maze Dragon or
two....). Of course the antifreeze crystals could be used for ghost
rock. And those trans scorpions and spiders from the Arctic sets would
fit right in....

Blam blam blam. What was that? Oh, just one of them Texas Rangers taking
out a menace to society.... Move along now chaps, there's nothing to see
here.

Frank
