Queens: Hippo vs. Cow - Henrietta and Clara seem like the Queens of their
respective sides.

Bishops: Crocodile vs. Goat - No particular reason.

Knights: Parrot vs. Crow - Birds, because the Knight is the only piece that can
jump (or in this case fly) over other pieces.

Rook: Elephant vs. Pig - The Elephant makes a good Rook, the Pig - well it was
the last slot I had open.

Pawns: Monkey vs. Lamb - For Pawns the Monkeys make good fodder, and the poor
Lambs...to the slaughter.

Interesting ideas, they would work, but I am traditional enough that I would
prefer having each piece for each side for each position mirror the other except
for some color designation.

I have a fairly decent size Fabuland population and I would not have enough to
do this... so for me, had i the skill I would do a virtual version...

Monkey vs. Lamb?... if you must... but certainly no slaughter  of either.
This is Fabuland Land... each plays nicely and when gently tapped out, they skip
off  to ice cream  and a ride on the ferris wheel  :-)

Pawns.. i am thinking mice.. fairly many exist... various color mice and various color shirts... do i have enough?   alas, not even for one side..
