Hey everybody,
As it comes closer to the date for new sets to arrive I thought it may • be a
good Idea to get peoples input on what they want to see.
1) Do you want to see Disney sets continue?

Yes.  I don't want to see anything discontinued ever!  [General principles
being   -  every set yields some interesting elements.]   For now, I see the
MM sets as great part packs.

MM sets have potential.

I have been trying to figure out what perturbs me about them.  I think it
comes down to the fact that they are not "real" sets.  There is no
primary/featured  model that uses all the pieces.  Therefore there are no
"real" sequenced instructions.  The booklets are more of a freestyle
approach.  I think it is a cop out to say that they don't want to inhibit a
child's creativity and only want to present suggestions.  (In building, for
me, it is very helpful to build the featured model before redesigning  or
deciding to use a set just for parts to enhance a totally new bizarre
creation.)  Okay so they don't want to have story books like Fabuland, so
why don't they at least have a featured model and have the characters build
the structures in  a clear, orderly well illustrated manner as with the
Belville sets.  ( I am thinking about the beach ones here as I don't have
any of the larger fairy tale ones.)   In one instance, the fishing bucket
set, the instructions leave out the placement of a critcal piece.  (4178 p.6
the car, a 2x4 red plate must be used to increase the length of the base of
the car to attach all the top stuff onto.)

2) What new characters would you like to see?

I want some generic  animal type  characters- Fantasia elephants ...

3) Do you think sets based on Disney World rides would be cool?  Which
ride?

I would like a complex amusement park theme set scaled to Fabuland.  Lots of
moving parts., train, monorail, roller coaster & more.  It wouldn't have to
based on Disney World.

4) Do you have interest in sets being based on Animated Features, for • example
Snow White or Lion King.

Snow White sounds good.  Lots of animals, forest, food-apples, dwarfs, a
mine with rail and cart underground system, cottage with furnishings & more.

Pinochio might be good too.  Donkey island amusement park, life inside a
whale, puppet theatre, toy shop...Figaro! Jiminy(sp?) Cricket with a
removable hat!

5) What Fabuland elements would you like to see brought back?

I want everything to return!

The FIGURES!!!!! with removable and interchangable hats!!!!!!!!!!!!

red telephone, self standing ladder (3628), large green garbage can w/lid,
trees, benches, swing, carosel with hanging seats, specialized oars, refrig
w/food tiles, sink, paddleboat, both styles of airplane, cart, wheelbarrow,
hand held umbella, bricklayer trowel, Scooters!!! all styles with
saddlebags- maybe even adding a new one with a side car!, hooks and loops on
car chasis,  The camper, the big trunk with lid(now only in belville), all
lenghts of car bases, the flat top windscreen(part #4608), bed both styles,
gates/fences, round signs, gas pump f/3666, the stroller, the car/truck top
unit f/3634, the big rectangular box house/garage units from 1979, car doors
right and left, stairs (one side rail, 5 step f/132), Fabuland t-handle
shovel !!!, large fry pan!!!, mailbox w/tile letters 2x2 f/3603, large
backpack basket f/3603, 6x6x1 square box, drum with drumsticks, wall unit
with cupboard w/doors, washtub, ,lawnmower, antennae f/3672, roof piece with
hole for antennae, vacuum cleaner, rug beater,.... everything!

The booklets! with stories and step by step instructions  for a primary
model , plus alternates .

sheree
