Hail fellow BrikWarriors,
This scenario is only the first of a series of BrikWars games we are
planning to run at BrickFest 2001. More will be posted over the next
few days. Hopefully we'll have enough variety that everyone will find
something to enjoy.
The rules are not set in stone yet, so please comment with any
suggestions you may have.

Junkyard Wars
Game Length: 2-4 hours
Players: 3/5 (must be odd number)
Tech Level: 5
CP Limits: 100 for minifigs only, no weapons/equipment/vehicles
Scenario:
Each player will receive a limited number of special bricks which
must be transported across the game arena by any means available and
placed inside a goal. The winner of the game will be the player with
the greatest number of bricks in their goal when the time limit is
reached.
Players providing their own squads must use construction points for
purchasing troops only; all weapons and equipment will be found within
the scenario. The GameMaster will provide several squads for players
new to the game or those travelling without appropriate troops. Each of
these pre-built squads will consist of 14 Troopers and 2 Mechanix..
Each player will be provided with a crate of tools and two portable
PowerPaks.
At the start of the game each player will choose a pre-built goal from
those provided by the GameMaster. Each goal will be unique in
construction but all will provide an enclosed space for storing the
bricks. Goals are considered indestructible and bricks stored inside
may not be removed. However, players may construct defenses around
other player¹s goals in order to prevent them from easily placing
bricks inside. Any bricks not in a goal are fair game and may be
"liberated" from other players in order to increase your total and
decrease your opponents¹.
Each player will set up their unarmed squads at starting points
spaced equidistantly around the border of a circular arena. Their
chosen goal will be placed directly opposite their squad at the other
side of the arena. An odd number of players will ensure that no player
starts the game on top of another player¹s goal.
The interior of the arena will be filled with the discarded weapons and
destroyed vehicles of previous "victims." In addition to providing
cover from enemy fire, the junkyard may be searched for salvageable
weapons or parts that can be used by Mechanix to construct new weapons
or vehicles. All parts must be physically transported to within 3" of
the Mechanik creating the new construction. Trucks may be built to haul
bricks quickly across the arena, flyers can "bomb" bricks into a goal,
a catapult can fling them across the arena; the only limits are your
imagination and the discretion of the GameMaster.
All troops and vehicles must remain within the arena at all times.
Any troop or vehicle forced out of the arena during play will be
removed from the game. Any special scoring brick sent out of the arena
will be randomly placed back within the arena boundaries.
Scenario Notes:
This game was conceived as a way to introduce new players to
BrikWars with as little player prep as possible. Mechanix were added to
make use of the little-used in-game construction rules and add an
element of fun by seeing what crazy contraptions will be built.
The game is not intended to be a sport as such; the scoring gimmick
was introduced as a way to encourage the construction of transport
vehicles and promote conflict among players trying to capture each
other¹s bricks.

| Are Technix allowed (ie does the equipment restriction affect their spraycans)? Also, are the ratio rules in full effect (obviously exept for Mechanix since you are not allowed to have any vehicles)? (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jun-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
