The second BrikWars game proposed for BrickFest 2001. As always, please
add any suggestions you may have.

A Bridge Too Far
Game Length: 2-4 hours
Players: 2/4/6 (should be even number)
Tech Level: Player¹s Choice (2-6)
CP Limits: TL2-3: 150, no limit per vehicle
TL4-6: 200, no more than 60 per vehicle
Scenario:
Players must capture and hold the lone bridge over a river bisecting
the playing field. The winner will be the player who controlled the
bridge for the greatest number of turns when the time limit is reached.
Players will set up their squads at evenly spaced starting points on
either side of the river which runs from one side of the playing field
to the other. This river is deep enough to be uncrossable by normal
ground or treaded vehicles, though flyers, hover flyers and boats will
have no difficulty.
The bridge spanning the river in the middle of the playing field is
constructed of the most durable materials available and is
indestructible. The bridge surface will accommodate any vehicle up to 8
studs wide and 7 bricks high; vehicles larger than this will be unable
to cross the bridge.
A flagpole will be erected at either end of the bridge to indicate the
area that must be captured in order to gain points. A player gains
control of a flagpole at any time theirs are the only ground troops
within 3" of the flagpole. One point shall be scored for undisputed
possession of each flagpole at the end of each player¹s turn.
Any troops falling into the river will be carried downstream at a rate
of 2" per player turn. They may attempt to swim to either bank at a
rate of 1" per turn, or 3" per turn if they drop all weapons and
equipment. Any troop carried to the edge of the playing field will be
removed from the game. Armored troops must immediately discard all
armor or risk drowning. Troops in the water may be rescued by any unit
on land. Any vehicles falling into the river will immediately sink to
the bottom and be removed from the game.
Scenario Notes:
I have several friends in the SCA. This type of game is typical of
their large-scale battles when two kingdoms stage a tournament. The
"undisputed possession" scoring idea was shamelessly stolen from the
computer RTS game Myth.
