Hi All,

I will be putting together a minifig roundtable at Brickfest PDX in February to allow collectors and others to build a universally accepted database of minifigs (and of course have a swapmeet so we can trade minifigs as well). The goal of this is simple, yet will not be easy to obtain. There are several good sources on minifigs available, but none of them seem to be comprehensive or 100% complete and accurate. The following places are what I am currently aware of for starting points:

http://www.legofigs.com

http://www.bricklink.com

http://www.brickset.com

Each of these places has a different database with good points to it. I would like to be able to combine the info in all of these and verify the data against instructions on brickshelf. I am currently using www.legofigs.com to find minifigs I need and using BrikTrak (http://www.briktrak.com) to maintain a list of minifigs I have and need.

Things I want to consider for the discussion are:
  • minifigs and the sets they come with

  • separate category for promotional minifigs

  • separate category for custom minifigs (such as LUG, LTC and event sponsored minifigs)

I have spoken to a few people already and they seem very interested in helping out. Please share with me your thoughts on this and your ideas for it. I would also like to follow up with minifig wish lists for people so we can be more productive at the swapmeet with trading minifigs. As a teaser to this event, I created a minifig collage poster. You can download it at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=606911

Please direct email inquiries to geoffgr@comporium.net

Thanks all and happy minifig’ing
