 Dear LEGO / 4237 (-20)
  Re: layoffs in Enfield

(...) A company that I've supported with *thousands* of dollars lays off a good friend of mine, it makes me want to stop supporting them. Kinda like when your favorite sports team trades your favorite player. It makes you like that team less than (...) (21 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: layoffs in Enfield

Am I confused or are you? First you say "Are we not buying enough bricks??", then you continue with "When I hear that my friends are losing their jobs, it makes me want to stop buying your products." So we're not buying enough bricks, therefore (...) (21 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  layoffs in Enfield

Dear LEGO: I got an email this weekend from a good friend of mine. For almost 15 years he's been working for you in Enfield, and last week he was layed off. Is business really so bad that you have to get rid of talented long-time loyal employees? (...) (21 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.dear-lego)

High praise for Designer Set #4100

In a recent thread on LUGNET, someone referred to 'evangelizing' about LEGO. This post may have some of that tone to it, though I suspect this is probably more like preaching to the choir. On Friday I was pleasantly surprised to find several of the (...) (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general) !

  my technic set idea

Basicly, we need a "universal" type set that emphasizes function over form & that doesnt have studless beams, faring panels or anything like that. Something with a couple of models (2 or 3) plus a whole bunch of "ideas" of how to do different little (...) (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.dear-lego)

dear lego, please use more of part 32555.

  SNOT pieces

I recently answered a survey on Lego.com & added a comment describing my opinion for SNOT pieces: here are pics describing what I meant: (URL) can buy the designs from me for Lego sets! :) Jeff (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  NBA display at LSB

I popped in to Lego Shop Bluewater today for a look round, particularly at the new designer sets. Very nice. However I was troubled by the lack of care taken with the shop displays. There was a display Basketball court with the real-life NBA player (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: THANKS!!!

(...) I'd hug the designers for the design sets, but I'm afraid we'll never know who they are under this threat! :) (...) Mmm, sweet! (...) We'll have to wait and see, tough if the final version is the final version they did fix the horrible color (...) (22 years ago, 7-Mar-03, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  THANKS!!!

Dear Lego, thanks for the new sets for 2003! Those Designer sets are really cute, and go back to what Lego should be about: have loads of versatile parts and just create. The new technic sets are great too. The dumper and the wheel loader are great (...) (22 years ago, 6-Mar-03, to lugnet.dear-lego)

40th Anniversary of LEGO in Canada?

I was wondering if anyone else was wondering this.... Since 1998 brought us the 35th anniversary buckets and tubs here in Canada I was thinking that 2003 must then be the 40th anniversary of LEGO in Canada. However, I suspect that since we haven't (...)   Re: Questions about product rotation

(...) Trains follows this rotation less than some other lines do, has been my experience. 4565, for example, has been out for a very long time. I would expect it to be gone sometime soon but who knows? Other parts of the line do rotate out briskly, (...) (22 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Questions about product rotation

I have questions the more experienced members may be able to answer, especially attendees at BricksWest2003. Do the train sets follow the normal two year product rotations?   Re: what else could be done

(...) I hope not. Lift arms are great. They will never replace the technic beam in many applications. For one you could not used a technic beam with 2 plates and another technic beam on top and so forth to hold things together verticaly. Regards, (...)   Re: what else could be done

(...) Well, I was originally thinking holes b/w the studs (for a total of 2 holes), but I suppose a 3-hole (holes right below studs) would be cool too :-) TJ (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)
