Is anyone aware of changes to LEGO's Shop at Home customer service that
would account for the fact that when I tried to call today and place an
order I ended up speaking with a guy who had never heard of the weekly Shop
at Home specials? In fact, he said that there was no such thing as LEGO
"Shop at Home" - according to him I can order from my home or work or
anywhere I happened to be calling from so I didn't HAVE to be at home to order.
I tried to explain to him that the very catalog I was holding in my hand had
as its return address "LEGO Shop at Home" but still he claimed to be
completely ignorant of any such phrase - much less any supposed weekly
specials. He said all he could do was charge me the full price which is
what comes up on his computer screen.
I know that after hours and on weekends LEGO outsources the customer service
to another company that is not aware of specials, etc. Have they started
doing this every day now?
If so (or even if not) it would be nice if LEGO would actually take time to
let the people they've employed know the details of the business service
they're supposed to be providing.
One other curious thing - I had to go through a LONG & PAINFUL process with
this guy of giving him all my vital stats - every other time, since the
first time I ordered, they've always just pulled my customer profile up on
the computer and went from there.
So, does anyone know of changes afoot at LSAH or did I just happen to luck out?
Greg
P.S. I ended up not placing any order at all.
