(...) Done! I was used to Dejanews before I found my newsreader. Anytime you wanted to cancel messages there, it posted your cancellation message without any reference to content. After seeing that, I figured I'd just apologize rather than putting (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) It's a fairly standard Usenet thing. It's also really easy to abuse -- it's easy to forge a cancel message for someone else's post.
