Sometimes, all you have to do is ask nicely and you find that people will make
sure you get something you'd like but missed out on. Sometimes you don't even
have to ask - they just offer, seeing the need. I've been on both sides of
that sort of deal.
Maybe if you didn't seem to try so hard to make people mad (or maybe it just
comes naturally for you, but don't deny that you weren't looking to tick
people off with some of the things you wrote) there'd already be a 6899 on its
way to you.
