Re: Bulk Ordering Train windows... My Thoughts

(...) Right, I'll do about a 50car freight train, but I'd like to finish the 20car grey 4558 and the 5-10 car black 4558 before diving deeply into the freight train ;-) -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) Bay Area DSMs (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.trains)

Re: Bulk Ordering Train windows... My Thoughts

(...) Spoken like a man with terminal Train Jones. Thing is, I have it too, and I probably can hold off somewhat, because, while passenger is nice, FREIGHT is where all the action is. (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Stickers - Problems

(...) Ah, no. We've had that debate already. MOST sets have track and a power pack included but it's not required. I think I've been active in MR since before you were born. (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) Right, TLC indeed lost money in 1998, but they got on their feet in 1999. (they attributed their renewed success to Mindstorms.) -Shiri (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

I purchased 44 3225s last year and I'd say most had peeling sticker problems. A perfectly flat and well-preserved sticker sheet was the exception, not the rule. -John (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Stickers - Problems

(...) 3225 is not a set it's a train - it deserves it's own category along with 4558 and 4565. A set in the model train world is something that can operate just using the components in the package. (...) It's been said before, 4561 would be so good (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) I may be wrong, but I seem to remember reading somewhere, recently, that they experienced a loss in 1998. -Jonathan (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) Last I heard they weren't. Ben Roller (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) TLC is not a corporation it is a family owned buisnesss. Unfortunatly they run it like a corporation. i.e. they no longer seem to care about quality over cutting corners to save money. Now they wonder why they are losing money. (...) I prefer (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)
