 Dear LEGO / 1677 (-10)
Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) Nope... I'm thinking of building *huge*, *massive* castles and citadels, with *really* *thick* walls, ... [flashback actor="billy crystal" persona="grumpy old man"] the way they were made in the *good* old days, where a castle would last (...) (...) You may well get your on production run. Hang on a second, would 5000 burps not be just as good? Scott A (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology

Mr. Justus, Thank you for your post. Bearing in mind what you wrote, about basic bricks only for starters, I'd have to say that my most probable request for my first order would be -- depending on the actual final costs, of course -- a lot/order of (...)   Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) Agreed 100%. I think we are looking after sought after volume parts which are in current sets. I'm thinking of parts like castle walls, 4561 thin wall windows and the like. I doubt you'd ever get parts like 4561 nose as those parts only have (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: bulk element votes (was: Re: an update -- and an apology)

(...) Well yes, I am pointing to the parts I want, but I didn't list all colors because we don't really know if, when we pick a piece, are we restricted to a single color? Or will they say "OK 2x2 tiles it is, in what colors do you want?" Too early (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) I don't think so, and here's why: doing one part in different colors is (probably) treated as a different production run for each color. And it's doubtful that LD will want to stock an entire production run of a single part in a single color. (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) <snip> (...) Besides that I think we might want to wait and hear more of what Brad has to say. He said he should get back to us in a couple of weeks to let use know more about how we help to decide which 12 or so special parts get to be (...)   Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) ...Seems reasonable... perhaps have the tally thing track actual parts wanted _and_ how many of each part potentially will be ordered... That information will likely be more useful to LEGO direct anyway. ...you can go back to ignoring me (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

In lugnet.dear-lego, Gary R. Istok writes: <snip (...) I would agree that just to get a few 2x2 windows the Dacta and service packs are not the way to go. I actually bought 2 of the Dacta packs mostly for the 1x4x3 windows so I lucked out and got (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) be answered: If everyone gets one vote, and if 90% of the people are NOT train folks, I would assume that the train people are going to get out-voted. If voting were done by say - how many parts do you want of a particular piece, then you may (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)
