Re: "Diffs" of the master list of numbers?

(...) check out: (URL) if you want to check daily, check (URL) if it's there, there was a change. Does that work? Dan (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: is the Peeron Database available?

(...) Could I have a look at your scripts, too? Perhaps I could Then I could generate data that fits your system better. Regards, Hakan (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: is the Peeron Database available?

(...) I see. That was enough for me at the beginning, too, but then I needed to re-order the lines in the inventory, too. I like to build by inventory files in the order they are in they are in the instructions, noting any extra parts, but the (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: nearly-complete inventories for sets from EBay?

(...) O.k., I'll start with the MISB ones, and add a comment to those that were from EBay auctions. Regards, Hakan (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  New inventories added!

Since our last post 3/16/01, we've added 32 sets! We're up to 429 with more added all the time. A special thanks to Margaret Keys, Tom Cook, Steve Bliss, Mike Timm, TWS Garrison, Christina Hitchcock and Heather Patey for helping with this latest (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: nearly-complete inventories for sets from EBay?

(...) I wouldn't mind, if I wasn't told :) but dan's right, MISB is preferred, but I happen to know that some of our inventories were done from instructions... that's why we love to get doubles, or later ourselves verify them, more information is (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: is the Peeron Database available?

(...) Have they added txn support yet? If not, make sure you're single threaded through any parts that modify the DB... ++Lar (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: Part Description

(...) this piece? (URL) made up a name for it, since we couldn't find one either: "Spring 2 x 2 x 2 & 1/3" :) FUT: lugnet.db.brictionary Dan (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: nearly-complete inventories for sets from EBay?

(...) that's actually for Jennifer to decide, but I think our guideline is that we'd prefer MISB, but will accept sets you think are complete - perhaps with a comment about the completeness. We do like to note the extra pieces you get when you (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: is the Peeron Database available?

(...) well, we update the master list, and I have a script that I can run against any number of inventories (or all of them), and update all the files automatically.   Re: is the Peeron Database available?

(...) two reasons... first, MySQL wasn't installed on the server I set peeron up originally. and second, I need to learn a lot more SQL before I could use it effectivly... yes, it's in my Little Plan (tm), but need to find the time... :) Besides, (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: "Diffs" of the master list of numbers?

(...) How about a 24-hour-diff, and if the diff file is empty, just throw it away? That way, you would keep only the diffs in which something actually changed. What I'm doing at the moment is to download your master list and commit it to my CVS (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: is the Peeron Database available?

(...) Oops ;-) (...) So how do you do updates if, say, the name of one piece changes or if you make a picture of a new part that you haven't had in your inventories up to that date? I tried the perl-and-textfile solution myself, but the task of (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

nearly-complete inventories for sets from EBay?

Hi, I got a few sets from EBay that were marked as "complete", and, as far as I can see, they had all the right pieces to build at least the main model. Dou you accept inventories of those sets into the Peeron Database or have the sets be MISP? (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: is the Peeron Database available?

(...) Why not use MySQL for the backend and then you can just export the tables? KL (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: is the Peeron Database available?

(...) actually, the backend is completely custom written by me in perl, so there's no formal database to export... maybe one day I'll set up some sort of export function, that will take all the sets and dump them out into one big file... (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: "Diffs" of the master list of numbers?

(...) I thought of that, and I wouldn't mind doing it - except that I'm not sure what I'd diff it to - 24 hours ago? a week ago? last update? the master list is sometimes generated 5-6 times in an evening, if we're doing a lot of edits... I guess I (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

"Diffs" of the master list of numbers?

Hi, Would it be possible that, when the master list of numbers is updated, you could generate a diff to the next-older version? I have a few inventories on my laptop (which I *really* intend to post one of those days ;-)) that I would like to keep (...) (24 years ago, 27-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  is the Peeron Database available?

Hi, I guess the inventories on the peeron site are database based. Is it possible to (nightly?) export the data and make it available for automated processing, the way the lugnet set reference is made available? I'd love to have the inventories (...) (24 years ago, 27-Mar-01, to lugnet.db.inv)
