I guess the inventories on the peeron site are database
based. Is it possible to (nightly?) export the data and make
it available for automated processing, the way the lugnet set

actually, the backend is completely custom written by me in perl, so
there's no formal database to export...  maybe one day I'll set up some

Oops ;-)

sort of export function, that will take all the sets and dump them out
into one big file...

So how do you do updates if, say, the name of one piece changes
or if you make a picture of a new part that you haven't had in your
inventories up to that date?

I tried the perl-and-textfile solution myself, but the task
of generating "canonical" versions of the inventories (yeah, I know,
I should post them, my oldest ones are longer than 7 months, but
I have to finish that auto-post script ;-)) got a little out of
hand. Now I have most of my data in text files (your master list,
the ldraw parts list, the pause set list and my inventories),
but use a Postgres database to store the data.

Would you be interested in using parts of my software?
Perhaps we could merge our efforts ;-)

If you are interested, I could post an overview of what I
have on my laptop.

Regards,
Hakan
