I visited a friend in another state this past weekend, and we got to
talking about the color change. To paraphrase what he said:
The reason has to be money. Purely money, nothing else. Theyre a
business. Theyd be idiots if it were any other reason besides money. Do
you know how expensive a color change like this is? They wouldnt be doing
it unless they were sure that it would save them money.
This got me to wondering: Why has Mega-Bloks gray always been so blay?
Is blay cheaper than gray? Why on Gods Green Earth would Mega-Bloks
choose not to color-match classic LEGO gray unless it were cheaper to
make it blay instead? Hmmmmmm.

Unless this is all some big conspiracy over Mega-Bloks making their grey not the
same color as LEGO grey so that they could be different enough to escape
copyright infringement lawsuits, and now LEGO is changing so that Mega-Bloks is
no longer as different than the LEGO product...
...or maybe not. ;)
