Very well put, Suzanne.
I was offline for most of the thread that spawned all of this and probably
wouldn't have gotten too involved in thhings - or regretted it if I had.
Being one of those who was fortunate enough to get the set when it was
initially released, though only through pure luck (1), the idea of bridging
ages is probably one of the coolest takes on this that I've seen posted yet.
While my wife and I don't have children, yet, it WOULD be a very cool way
of sharing something in common with a child.
(I'm also planning on buying at least one copy of the "new" set and probably
several as the budget allows - kids or no! <G>)

(1) I believe I've mentioned it before. When the set was initially around, I
wasn't much into the shop at home option and never got a catalogue that it
may have been in. Only through the making of some great friends I'd met
around that time did I discover the set. Their father frequently flew on
business trips to europe and would bring them back sets not available in the
'States. I was able to get mine from one such trip and am eternally grateful
for that chance.
