  New Castle? Huzzah!

So I've gone and looked (as I'm sur eall of you have) at the new catalog scans on brickshelf. What can I say? It looks like Castle is on the upswing after FK. (In deference to Mike, I'm not including Ninja as part of Castle. 8) ) Of course my final (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

Any WWF fans out there? Is it just me, or do these new bad guys emblem remind you of the People's Champions Brahma Bull? Very cool... (...) Saving pennies??? Time to start parting out sets, and selling pieces I don't need. Need to build funds, and (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: New Castle? Huzzah!

(...) Its the same dual hill baseplate which premiered in 5986 Amazon Ancient Ruins. It looks like they made good use of it. (...) Those lion lintels look like they might be cream colored. Those towers are in the same 16x16 modular tower vein used (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: New Castle? Huzzah!

(...) Didn't they first use this baseplate in the large Royal Knight Castle? Simon. LEGO: SP[cl++++(6825)ip++b...++++(6951) PI[so++++]++ CA[dm++++(6078)bf/cr...++++(6081) #++++ YB75M (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: New Castle? Huzzah!

(...) Has the 6090 baseplate been used anywhere else? One of these days I'd like to put together a reference of baseplates. (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: New Castle? Huzzah!

(...) Not to my knowledge... Pity, as CRAPPs go, it's not too bad, IMHO. The 'river gorge' baseplate has been used in two sets so far (three counting the 2000 Castle): Amazon Ancient Ruins (green, jungle printing, river through the middle), and Rock (...) Did you notice the decorated turning-wall pieces in some 2000 castle sets. I'm holding my fingers crossed, since it may very well be a transparent piece with printed decoration: a colored glass window. Eric Brok (25 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: New Castle? Huzzah!

(...) They are. I can see the little 1x4 "lip" in my catalog, and it is transparent. There are some other clues as well. Jeff P.S. Anyone nottice the large Lion's Head symbol inside the castle? Could it be a tapestry? (25 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: New Castle? Huzzah!

(...) transparent. (...) Yes, I thought I could see throught the "cracks" between the "bricks" in the "arch" that was printed above the window. Wow! I certainly hope this is true. It's almost too much to hope for. (...) No. Where is it? Is it (...) (25 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: New Castle? Huzzah!

(...) Yup. I first noticed it on page 16; you can see it through the main gate. Then, looking at the set image on the next page, the stripes can be seen through the main gate, while part of the lion's head can be seen through the little window above (...) (25 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)
