I agree -- if we want to mimic the "real world", we should start with Year
1.  (when you count apples, do you start with number 0?)

but _before_ you begin to count, there _are_ 0! actually, if ballads can
be set anywhen, shouldn't our timeline have a 0 pivital date in the middle?
(jeff j's idea, not mine, but i really like it) a timeline bookended with
the "indefinite past" and the indefinite future". our stories can keep going
in either direction without ever leaving the castle genre time-period. the
forward advances would have to be scheduled with our real time. something
like 5 CW years = 1 real world year or such. the past could stretch back
hundreds or thousands of years as balladeers write it.

Right! Stories that occur in the 'past' would have to be placed in the past...

However, in my storyline, the present has to come before Itell about the past,
and I'm sure I'm not the only one...

So, question ahead: will I have a page of my own ballads, in the order I like
them to be? (Which would be seperate from the 'history' page in which ballads
would/would not (?!) be in chronological order)

instead of A.L., though, what about A.B.S.?  not only is it what lego
bricks are made from, it could stand for "After Balladeers Started"! tales
from the past could creatively be translated from ancient texts or written
down from oral tradition.(the original balladeers!)

Love it!

uh... before year 0 though, i'm drawing a blank. B.B.S?

Um, maybe Before Ballads Written? (BBW)

I dunno...
