Fiddling round on the net today I took a trip to www.spiteyourface.com, the
guys who did the fantastic Monty Python short. I was mildly surprised to see
they were local boys from Newport (Wales) so, seeing as the film inspired a
good deal of discussion over parts I sent them a mail asking them a few of
the questions people here on Lugnet asked...

When we made the python movie we gathered what bits we
needed from the lego workshops in Billund. The
workshop isa big open plan building with lots of draws
full of random lego in otherwise unavailable colous,
some properly moulded, some hand painted, some
prototype mouldes.
To cut a long story short we just found the mysterious
bits lying around in draws, on tables or on the floor.
I dont know where they are from or if they were ever
released.
Bedeveres Helmet: I don't know where the visor came
from but it fits the old skool space helmets,
suggesting its from an old old castle set, released or
otherwise.
The Mace: I don't know, we just found it. I'm sure
I've seen them before (it didnt even cross anyones
mind these bits were new) I thought it belonged to the
Harry Potter troll. Maybe not. Shows what I know.
The dancers helmets: These,as I believe some people
worked out, are the bat winged helmets with the wings
cut off. I understand that these are only commercialy
available in black, but, again, we just found some
grey ones.
Oddly enough, Ive never noticed anyone mention that
the minstrels clothes incorporate TWO different shades
of light blue that you cant get. But nevermind.

| (...) :) (...) WoW, thanks for the background info James! Its kewl to know that Lego has pre-existing prototypes that can possibly one-day make it into production in some fashion or another. (...)
