Re: Sci Fi Novels --> movies

(...) Back in the early '80s I actually wrote Douglas Adams a letter talking about how much I liked the books (I think just two were out then) he had written. He wrote back, telling me he was working on getting a movie of HHGTTG made and that there (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: [BrickLords] Level 2 is open !

(...) Denix, That's terrific! Darn, now I'm never going to get any work done today... Looks like I dropped a few ranks in the list too. :) Great work, -Mike (21 years ago, 8-Mar-04, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: A wine rack I made today

(...) The gaps are just a tiny bit wider than the thickness of a tile, as mentioned in (URL) Manfred's post> nearly a month ago. The 1x1 tiles are laid out in pretty much the same pattern as Manfred's headlight brick idea, or my 3-stud 1x1 brick or (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: A wine rack I made today

(...) In looking at the "Parable of the harsh master" that BPS just posted I saw this pic (URL) wondering if that is of any use. As in I wonder if tiles will fit between those diagonally turned 1x1s and be held tightly enough to work out... the gaps (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Deal me in

(...) seemed? I had a blast! That was the first time that the .Space Paparazzi got to visit another place, and it was a LOT of fun...except for the various things that weren't to keen on getting pix taken. Musta been the nuclear flash:) Anyhoo, I (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.fun, FTX)

  Re: Who built these?

(...) the 'natural LEGO enhacement' I was impressed by the disclaimer "not to take anything away from whoever built that Orthanc". This isn't just a hobby, but an unspoken competition to build the biggest Orthanc or suffer the public humiliation of (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.indylug, lugnet.castle)

What set is this piece in?

(URL) I picked this up in a grab bag at the LEGO store in Orlando. Peeron doesn't have this piece listed. The number on the part is 45405. -Orion (21 years ago, 7-Mar-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, lugnet.town, FTX)

[BrickLords] Level 2 is open !

Dear Lords, Today is a great day ! The level 2 of the Deep is now open to you. A new big adventure ! With the level 2 come a lot of new things : - 2 new monsters, the "barbarian" and the "evil paladin", - 2 new potions, "invulnerability" and (...)   Gatehouse built in ABS

Ken C. has built my Tower Gatehouse with real bricks! He followed the instructions very well. I think it looks great. You can all see pictures here: (URL) Ben E. (21 years ago, 7-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX) !!

  Re: Dueling Knights

Hello James, it's a very nice concept, fun to watch, and I presume, even more fun to build. And as far as I know, highly original as well! Good job, very inspiring. I'm looking forward to see your other 'letters'! Thanks and happy building, Daan (21 years ago, 6-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Dueling Knights

The fourth installment of the alphabet project is here. It is a dueling ring where knights can compete. It can stand alone, or be hooked into a castle wall.   Re: Sci Fi Novels --> movies

(...) I'm right there with you, man. I felt the same way about Hudson Hawk. It's so incredibly hokey it's good. Allister (21 years ago, 6-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Sci Fi Novels --> movies

(...) I read a script once of a proposed movie based upon Isaac Asimov's short stories that never got to filming. The explanation was that Asimov's stories are very adult, concerning deeper issues and themes than most Hollywood sci-fi. (...)   Re: Deal me in

(...) Sure, why not. I think I know who to ask for ACES! But where did he palm that 5th one from, that's s what I want to know... This series of pics is hilarious, very well done. Kinda reminded me of the "dogs playing poker" paintings we all have (...) (21 years ago, 6-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.fun)

Re: Sci Fi Novels --> movies

(...) My friend has it in DVD and I'll probably be seeing it very soon. I'm reading the books right now and I'm afraid of what the movie will be like. Considering the actors that are in it, I'm pretty sure it will be horribly bad. (21 years ago, 6-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: Sci Fi Novels --> movies

Re: Sci Fi Novels --> movies

(...) If they bugger this up, someone will have to die. (...) Too bad, I could see it being really cool. Hopefully it'll get moving again. What I want to see is a film version of Cherryh's Cyteen, or maybe Tripoint. 40K In Gehenna would be cool, (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: StudWars presents : .castle vs. .space !!!

(...) Not true. Choose not to, most of the time, perhaps, but "can't"??? I don't THINK so! Ask Shaun Sullivan about use of his German rail mounted BFG in a Brickwars scenario... Or ask me, I played with some of the BLOC at Adrian Drake's house and (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)
