  Non-realistic rendering with POV?

Hello, I'm interested in trying to get some 2d, cel-like shading in some of my renderings. At one point I had found a post that talked about changing some settings to flatten out the image into a more toon like appearance. Now however, I can't find (...)   Re: Question: Does POVray support isometric perspective?

(...) You can use isometric if you are converting with L3P. Scroll down to the camera section and take away the two slashes from the start of the line: //orthographic This line should be green. You might have to fiddle with the camera a bit to get (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Making a Model an include file?

Here's what I want to do, and I'm wondering if its possible. I made a MOC using LDraw. I've turned the MOC into a POV file using L3P. When I've wanted two different models in a rendering before I've just made a dat file that included both of them (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Question: Does POVray support isometric perspective?

Hi, I'm trying to render an image using isometric perspective in POVray. Is this possible? Thanks! Mike (24 years ago, 17-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Changing scale of an object

(...) In the POV file find your models 'object' line. In an unmodified L3P generated file, it will be near the bottom of the file, directly above the line that says //background: It will look something like this: object { my_model_name #if (version (...)   Changing scale of an object

Is it possible in POV-Ray to change the scale of an object, i.e. to shrink it? Here's what I want to do. I have a micro-fig scale space cruiser and I want to have flying next to it a minifig scale fighters. Since in real-life these two models are (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Roads and craters

How do u get roads and craters in POV-RAY? I have made a hover shuttle that has to travel on old roads. and a moon base that has to well, go on a moon. HOW U DO THAT IN POVRAY?! The Order is powerful. The order is the Way (24 years ago, 15-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Bowlin' Fer Souls

(...) Link is good. I just checked it. The animations come in two flavors: Mediaplayer and Quicktime. And its the full 3 1/2 minutes of the cartoon. What can I say? -- Richard (24 years ago, 15-Jul-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.cad.ray)

  Bowlin' Fer Souls

Hey Y'all: Not at all Lego related, but I just thought some of you POV or CAD people might also like some animation action: (URL) you say, "Big Daddy Roth..."? -- Richard (sitting here giggling as he replays it, and replays it, and replays it...)   Re: Can LDAO do this? (was: anyone interested in rendering for me?)

(...) Yes, this should be perfectly appropriate. Perl would be a good tool to do this. Of course, it makes more sense to do this conversion in L3P to start with... If we can persuade Lars to do it! On the other hand, I don't like using POV-Ray to (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Can LDAO do this? (was: anyone interested in rendering for me?)

(...) I've simply used the POV-Ray 3.1 manual, which has a tutorial on most major features, and a nice reference. It can be gotten from (URL) (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Can LDAO do this? (was: anyone interested in rendering for me?)

(...) The main file for, say, SKETCH.DAT, shows up as a union block named sketch_dot_dat. I suppose that a post-l3p tool could just read in the POV output file and parse this union and insert the clock-checking logic. The same tool could also spit (...)   Re: Can LDAO do this? (was: anyone interested in rendering for me?)

(...) Yeah, and the docs aren't the best, either. Do you know of any decent tutorials for the 3.1 language? Online or book would be great, but all I've seen is stuff for 3.0... Cheers, - jsproat (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Can LDAO do this? (was: anyone interested in rendering for me?)

(...) Yeah, you got it! I used the POV-Ray clock to make an animation a year ago, so I learned a bit about it. I'm sure you've all seen it before: (URL) I get the time, I'm planning to make another animation, but don't hold your breath! ;-) (...) (...)   Re: Can LDAO do this? (was: anyone interested in rendering for me?)

(...) I suppose some of you may want to try this out, so do something like this with your POV-Ray file, as generated by L3P. Identify the portion of the file where the "0 STEP" lines are present and add #if and #end statements like this: // [DAT (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Can LDAO do this? (was: anyone interested in rendering for me?)

(...) Selective rendering of parts based upon the animation clock value or something like that? Cool, I didn't know POVRay could do that. Is it a preprocessor macro thingy, or something else? I was thinking, however, more along the lines of being (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)
