  L3PAO Floor Problem

I'm having problems with the floor settings in L3PAO. When I use the checkbox to render with a floor the POV file renders the floor in the middle of my model and leaves a black space (no floor, no background) across the bottom of the picture. Can (...) (23 years ago, 18-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Rendering Problems

(...) Go ahead and post the .pov file that is giving you the problem (or a smaller one that duplicates the problem, if you want), and I'll take a swing at it. Cheers, - jsproat (23 years ago, 16-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: What renderer did this?

Never looked at LEOCad but, by golly, I will now!! I talked to Matt about his renders, and admittedly while he didn't say he used Brazil, he did recommend it to me. The glass on the Polaris 1 model looks very similar to the results you get from (...) (23 years ago, 16-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  RE: SNOT Boating, con't

(...) You can turn off perspective in POV-Ray by adding the keyword "orthographic" to the camera. For example, camera { location <x,y,x> look_at <x',y',z'> orthographic } Hope that helps! Just remember to remove the keyword when you want perspective (...) (23 years ago, 14-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.boats, lugnet.cad.ray)

  Textures

Hi I'm using softimage XSI to create some lego models. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to go to get textures for my models Thanks, Jabbar (23 years ago, 10-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Stickers for Tiles in POV

Good info. Thanks! I have two questions about this: 1. Is it possible to get a .gif to work with transparency? 2. I am not totally clear on how you flip an image end for end, or rotate it. Can you help me out? Thanks! Jake --- Jake McKee AFOL LUGNET (...) (23 years ago, 9-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) the animated heading is quite eye-catching as well. The general setup is nice, too; easily navigable but not boring--a sometimes rare combination. You do a very nice job of fitting models to their backgrounds, adding a cool realism to the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Nov-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: What renderer did this?

Actually they were rendered with standard 3ds max scanline renderer. He used the HDRDomelight maxscript to create the "skylight". .. and if you open your DAT file in LEOCad, you can export it to the good old 3DS file format. This is how I prefer to (...) I'm guessing POVray. But if you want to see some really nice renders (imho) check out (URL) think he uses 3d Studio Max with the Brazil renderer. The only problem with using Max is that you have to convert the models from .dat to .dxf, and then (...) (23 years ago, 26-Oct-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)
