I tried using LDRAW quickly ... noted I didn't give it much of a chance, but I seemed to have a hard time getting it to draw properly. Parts disappeared and they didn't seem to line up right. It didn't seem like a good solid program. LeoDraw looks (...) (26 years ago, 28-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

(...) Ok, something like that would be useful to have, I think. I would feel claustrophibic if I couldn't convert new parts into the LeoCAD format. How about the other way around? Can ordinary DAT files be extracted from the LeoCAD format? And can (...) (26 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

(...) Because LeoCAD is (or should be) able to render pictures in realtime, so it uses some optimizations that would be too slow to do with standard LDraw files. It also stores some more information, like the position of the studs and the places (...) (26 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

If I'm not mistaken, LeoCAD uses a different parts format than LDraw. Why does it do this? Why not use the native LDraw parts library? (Excuse my ignorance if that applies.) Is it possible to convert LDraw part files to a format understood by (...) (26 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.leocad)
