Need LDD 2.0 Help from the Experts on Making Instructions

How do you control building instruction steps with LDD 2.0? It doesn't seem to preserve them when you upgrade 1.6 models or import LDraw models. I assume there must be a way because the 10183 hobby train models have organized instructions. Does (...) (17 years ago, 27-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

  Re: LDD questions

(...) I remember searching for that in 1.6... how frustrating! Try to hit the arrow on your keyboard when placing the brick (it should not just be selected, but be ready to place (moving with your pointer thus) Hope it helps, Jean-Marc (17 years ago, 25-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

  LDD questions

1. How do you rotate a brick in LDD? - it does't mention it in the help - I must be stupid! 2. When I export to Ldraw I just get the 1st 2 lines, the other export formats look OK? Thanks, David (17 years ago, 25-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

Problems with Online Hobby Train Instructions

Anyone have any pointers for successfully downloading the instructions for the new Hobby Train set (10183) (Windows XP) ? I've already downloaded LDD 2.0. When I click on the 'Download' icon at the instructions page, a new window briefly flashes (...) (17 years ago, 24-Mar-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd)

  Re: 10183 postponed?

(...) Well, it seems I may have spoken too soon. By going through and updating all of my drivers (I suspect the graphics card driver was the critical one) I've been able to get it to run on my Windows 2000 Pro machine. It freezes occasionally when (...) (17 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

  Re: 10183 postponed?

(...) Actually, from my fooling around with the software so far, I can say that there is some compatability between LDD 1,6 and LDD 2,0. When you try to load a file created with version 1,6 with version 2,0 it asks you if you want to try to import (...) (17 years ago, 22-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

Conversion file for ldraw to ldd

Hi all, I've converted the old conversion file from LDD 1.6 (with Jason Railton's adaptions) to LDD 2.0 format. It is far from perfect but is also far better than what is currently available. To install it just quit LDD 2, go to (...) (17 years ago, 22-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

  Re: 10183 postponed?

(...) :: snip :: (...) I share Jason's sentiment - I wish they would have kept compatibility with all but the most recent versions of Windows. I guess the software people decided that was the best thing to do. But it does pose an inconvenience for (...) (17 years ago, 22-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

  Re: 10183 postponed?

(...) On the plus side, it does seem to run on older hardware. I could only run 1.6 on my wife's laptop which she bought last year. Last night, I was able to install and run 2.0 on my 5+ year old machine. -Elroy (17 years ago, 22-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

  Re: 10183 postponed?

(...) Unfortunately, LDD 2.0 no longer runs on earlier versions of Windows. LDD 1.6 ran quite happily under Windows 2000, but the new version crashes as soon as you place a brick. It's also a bit mean to write off all the previously uploaded models. (...) (17 years ago, 22-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd, lugnet.trains)

Re: What's new in LDD 2.0?

(...) So far I think that may be the only thing. I only see 8-10 % CPU. So much for wishing they would have improved LDD with all the recommendations they got. Back to Ldraw again for me. (17 years ago, 21-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

Re: What's new in LDD 2.0?

(...) It is significantly faster and less of a hog. Apparently some people are running into graphic card problems but it's a huge, huge, huge improvement of 1.6. Featurewise 2.0 has a lot of cute things like right-click view rotation and other (...) (17 years ago, 21-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

  What's new in LDD 2.0?

Anyone figured out what the differences are between LDD 1.6 and 2.0? Does it still hog every available CPU cycle? --Bram (17 years ago, 21-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)
