Hey cool! Thankyou to everyone that voted, and especially thanks to
Ldraw.org. It was stumbling on your site earlier in the year that directly
led to me coming out of my 20 year dark age. This model was my first post
dark age MOC, the CAD model soon followed.
The minimalist design wasn't so much deliberate as born from the fact that I
only had three sets at the time - 8210, 8242 and 8223 - and I was trying to
get it to fit a technic figure. The Build With What You Got philosophy is so
much more challenging when you've only got a few hundred parts in total.
Thankfully, my LEGO stockpile has expanded somewhat since then :)
Anyway, thanks again.
