This is *not* the news all good LCAD-heads have been waiting for, but it is a small step in the right direction. For the past month, I've been working on a prototype for a new Parts Tracker. (...) In the prototype? It's just a simulation -- the submit/upload just copies a file from somewhere on your hard drive to <prototypedir>/active/. (...) If the server is a UNIX server then maybe you can use RCS - I think this change/version control system is implemented on most commercial UNIX platforms and is not difficult to use. In addition to the file locking it could also give you version (...) (23 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
