Re: Whats the difference between 6218 and 6259 ?

(...) Ok, that begs a question that I've been wanting to ask: what is the natural color of ABS ? Transparent/Clear ? Second question: what is the additive that gives us different colors ? Ray fut to .general (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Whats the difference between 6218 and 6259 ?

(...) I've been told LEGO has different molds for transparent bricks because of shrinkage. (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Whats the difference between 6218 and 6259 ?

(...) Is it safe to say that the image that we have for 6259 is identical (for our purposes) to the part moulded as 6218 ? Ray (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Whats the difference between 6218 and 6259 ?

(...) partsref (...) difference (...) I was able to lay my hands on 5 ClrDkBlue parts and all are marked 6259. And the grey ones on my Y-wing are 6218. IIRC the UFO quarter saucers used different mould numbers for the clear and opaque versions of (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Do I use Dat2AutoCAD or is there a better way?

POV-Ray can use bitmaps as surface textures. I've never done this myself, but I've seen it done. -John Van "Ryan Farrington" <ryanjf@ifriendly.com> wrote in message news:002501c0ab09$c8...dly.com... (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) I can get you some more numbers... (...) "Palmtree.dat" works for me. Steve (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Whats the difference between 6218 and 6259 ?

(...) Hmm, interesting. My half-cylinders from the Star Wars Y-Wing are also 6218's. I wonder if this is a situation where there are two different molds for opaque and transparent pieces. Does anyone have some transparent pieces to check? I can (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Do I use Dat2AutoCAD or is there a better way?

For a project I am working on, I need a picture of a datapad (which I posted to .models) with text displayed on its screen (and I don't mean a perfect front view). I rendered the model in POV-Ray, but have no idea of how to get the text on it, (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: shortcut - completed palm tree

Franklin, Well, I just called it "palmtree.dat" but since there is not an "official" part number for it, what about something starting with 25, since all the individual parts start with 25? Just an idea, and a scillie one I might add. Or, we could (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: shortcut - completed palm tree

(...) Oops... This should read "palmtre6.dat" and "six trunk segments", respectively... Plz. be nice, I've had a sinus migraine all day. :-/ Thanks, Franklin (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: shortcut - completed palm tree

(...) When I sent this one in (to Steve), I called it "x479.dat", but I'm wondering what we'll rename this short-cut. (_Especially_ since I'm _critically_ low on "temporary" part numbers; of the numbers I was given -- 460, and 462 thru 479 -- I've (...)   Whats the difference between 6218 and 6259 ?

I have a half cylinder 6218 in front of me. It looks exactly like the partsref image for 6259. Partsref does not have an entry for 6218. The parts list from peeron.com identifies both as 'Cylinder 2 x 4 x 4'. Anyone know the difference between these (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Part number for baseplate?

I haven't seen one in years, but I recall that the Homemaker sets included a mid-size blue baseplate with studs along the perimeter and a textured but non-studded central area. Does anyone know the part number for this? Does it exist in LCad? Dave! (24 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Part numbers master list ?

(...) There is no defacto set, because the Pyy numbers only exist for LCAD purposes, and the numbers are not allocated until somebody goes to the trouble of authoring the part - so the "Master list" is, in effect, the current PARTS.LST file in your (...)   Re: Part numbers master list ?
