Has anyone taken on the task of building a master list of part numbers ?

I've found several lists so far (dan boger's at peeron.com, lutz uhlmann's,
lugnet partsref, etc). Each of these contains a large overlap, but none is
complete (or as complete as possible outside of TLC).

Yesterday I tried to make my own list, starting with the file from peeron.com. • I
merged in some entries from lutz uhlmann's, added ones I have found myself, • and
did a little cleanup from the parts tracker page. Now its up to about 2700
entries. What should I do with this ?

Likewise, is there a reference list for the decorated part sub-numbers • (xxxxPyy)
? I noticed large gaps in the Pyy numbers for some decorated parts.

As has been mentioned several times in the group, the Pyy numbers are not part
of the official TLC nomenclature and are allocated within this LCAD community.
Numbers are not intended to be consecutive from 01 upwards, as we attempt to
keep decoration patterns from the same theme in blocks, and where the same
pattern is used on several parts (P68 = M:Tron), to use the same Pyy number
across parts.

Is there a roadmap for the 'X' numbers that I noticed on Dan's list ?

Xnnn numbers are allocated arbitrarily, when we don't know the real TLC number,
so there is no real pattern or meaning to them, except that some of the major
part authors have blocks of numbers reserved for their personal use.

One of the reference lists, lugnet partsref, does not seem to have a mechamism
to see the entire contents in one view (preferrably as a list). I wanted to • use
that to annotate my list even further.

Comments, suggestions ?

Ray

(...) Understood. (...) Is the defacto set of Pyy numbers publicly visible on a web site anywhere ? What is the procedure for assigning a Pyy number when I come across a decorated part that I do not see listed (in any list I can find that is). To (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)
