Personally, I prefer LEdit to compose (sub) models, L3Lab to do
explorative viewing and LDLITE to do final rendering of models.

If there is ever a "replacement" for LEdit, I think it should support
(basically) the same keyboard interface (in addition to a mouse based
point-and-click interface, if any).

(...) LDLite is available on ldraw.org at (URL) far as L3Lab, I haven't even heard of it! We are in desparate need of making resources available for download at ldraw.org - but we can't force program authors to make their own download pages. I will (...)
