Why would it appear oval?  The scaling would be along the Y axis.  The only
difference in appearance would be that the windings would not be as steeply
spiralled.  Which is a correct appearance.

Of course, my opinion is that the most-correct approach is to have a single
part-file for the spring, and scale it to the correct length.  The fact
that a 'real' spring does not compress evenly along the entire length (the
ends don't compress as much as the middle), won't be highly noticeable.


Maybe I could work up a spreadsheet to calculate (based on the total length of
the spring) the correct compression of each spiral of the spring and output the
most realistic spring possible.
