Hi,
I installed the LDVIEW 4.1.0.14 utility.
With the initial setup, i could start LDVIEW.
Anyhow, when i want to restart it after closing, its no longer working.
I get an error message from Windows: LDVIEW works no longer
The only thing that you can do is close LDVIEW and thats it.
After rebooting the PC, the result is the same.
Windows Vista Home Premium
Servicepack 2
Verry frustrating, and dont know whats happening.

Ludo

From which location you know the version number 4.1.0.14? I can only see 4.1.0
here and it works perfect on windows 7 64 bit!
Maybe just uninstall and install again.

Hi Michael,
I did a re-install,wont work. Only the first attemp to run the application was
succesfull (after the installation, you can start the application, thats when it
did run). To get the version number, click on properties and select Details.
There you can find the version number.
b.t.w.if i read it right on LDRAW.org, its impossible to run some applications
on a 64 bit machine. Quote
64-bit operatings systems are NOT supported by LDraw and users may expereince
limited functionallity using LDraw under a 64-bit operating system. unquote
What application(s) will fail on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine?
Im using MLCAD and need also LPUB,LDVIEW, L3P to ceate a decent building
instruction booklet + partslist.
Its possible that we upgrade to Windows7 on the Vista machine.
This is a AMD Athlon 7750 dual core processor - 32bit operating system - 4MB RAM
But i need to be sure that all needed applications will run on a Windows7.
I have also a problem with LPUB on the Vista.
I can run LPUB, select the file i want too, start POV-RAY, but if POV-RAY starts
to compile, after a few rows, it hangs (version 3.1g). After a while i get the
message that the program no longer react. I notice that POV-RAY is compiling
the Torus.pov file and not the file that i loaded with LPUB, even i can see the
right file name in the blue banner.
I used the full installer on LDRAW.org and installed LPUB 2.4.8.0 over the old
version.
Long live W98 - got never problems, but now, nothing seems to work.:(
What am i doing wrong, or is it the operating system?
Any help welcome.
Regards,
Ludo
