I'm thinkin' maybe the torus generator was designed with smaller parts in
mind, where the coarse angular granularity is far less noticeable than on a
baseplate.
What other mathematical methods of generating coordinates on a circle do you
know of besides the torus generator?

Terry is no slack. You know from experience that getting parts right is
very important to Terry and to almost everyone else here.
You would seriously ask Terry to consider a part that has been demonstrated
to be incorrect in a very obvious way? Even when many of your parts were
rejected in the last round of voting? What do you think this says to others
about your attitude and level of respect?
Though the LDraw parts effort is entirely volunteer-based, and in many cases
something is better than nothing, there are sometimes cases when nothing is
better than something. I think this is one of those cases. You've missed
the mark, I'm afraid.
