What other mathematical methods of generating coordinates on a circle do you
know of besides the torus generator?

regarding the baseplate problem. ldraw does not yet have the 8-stud
versions. i will submit it for voting as posted to cad.dat and then
see what terry says.

Terry is no slack.  You know from experience that getting parts right is
very important to Terry and to almost everyone else here.

You would seriously ask Terry to consider a part that has been demonstrated
to be incorrect in a very obvious way?  Even when many of your parts were
rejected in the last round of voting?  What do you think this says to others
about your attitude and level of respect?

Though the LDraw parts effort is entirely volunteer-based, and in many cases
something is better than nothing, there are sometimes cases when nothing is
better than something.  I think this is one of those cases.  You've missed
the mark, I'm afraid.

I have to agree with Todd here.  Jonathan, if the part you intend to submit for
voting is the same part as posted to lugnet.cad.dat, don't bother.  Just a
cursory look at it makes it obvious that the part needs major repair.  As Todd
pointed out, the torus generator was indeed designed for much smaller uses.
Using it for such a large circle looks terrible.  And the color within is not
evenly distributed.
