Re: Thoughts sought on final newlines

(...) I echo Mike. This is a programmers issue (is it honestly that hard to check? I would say no) and not something that should be put into the spec. -Orion (17 years ago, 20-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Thoughts sought on final newlines

(...) I agree fully on this. A text line is not complete until you have specified the end of it (with EOLN). A LDRAW model consists of text lines, and should IMO end with EOLN. Windows expects 'text' files to end with EOLN, and mistreats them if (...) (17 years ago, 20-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: Thoughts sought on final newlines

(...) We had a discussion about this item some times ago. I can not find the thread right now. The conclusion was: The user should not mind about that, the programer should. So if you write a prog for LDraw compatible files, you should check for (...) (17 years ago, 20-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Thoughts sought on final newlines

A (URL) recent discussion> lead me to observe that Bricksmith saves models without a final newline (ie, CRLF - no "line ending"): (...) Since one line that ended differently from others lead to complications here, I wondered if it might elsewhere. I (...) (17 years ago, 19-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

(...) The intent was for it to be a announcement vehicle but this was neglected for 2 reasons: - There's a problem with automatic subscription to the list when you sign up as an org member that I haven't ferreted out yet. - 99% of the active org (...)   Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

(...) I think I should point out here that while LUGNET and LDraw.org are very complementary to each other, they are two completely separate organizations. That being said, it's understandable to assume that having an ldraw.org site login (for (...) (17 years ago, 18-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

(...) Yeah, I saw that. I just didn't realize there were so many distinct layers on the LDraw onion. I figured since it's being discussed on Lugnet instead of some internal LDraw mailing list, it fell into the same "members" category as the (...)   Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

(...) Jim, I just checked your status. You only have user rights, you're not an .org-member: "Only LDraw organization members may vote..." If you are not registered as a member of the LDraw organization and would like to join, follow the (...) (17 years ago, 18-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

(...) Ha, nope. In Safari, Firefox, Camino and Opera, I can see all four ballots listed when I'm not logged in, but once I log in to vote the LSC ballot is no longer listed. I guess I just misunderstood the eligibility for voting. Sorry. Jim (17 years ago, 18-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

(...) Right. Well, maybe I've found some sort of caching bug in Safari 3 - it only displays the first three polls, even after resetting the browser. Everything comes up fine in FireFox, though, so no worries. Thanks, Jim (17 years ago, 18-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

(...) Elections on LDraw.org are driven by Orion's MOTM postnuke module. You should actually see 4 polls: the MOTM, POTM - Best part, POTM - Most desired part and finally the LSC election. (URL) (17 years ago, 18-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

Re: 2007/2008 LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) Election is open

(...) Is that ballot link correct? It just takes me to the model of the month ballot. Jim (17 years ago, 18-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Bricksmith patches

(...) I have given Jim access to submit this change directly into Bricksmith's source code. Thanks, Jim, for wanting to improve my software. If a good, well-integrated, well-presented (and already coded) idea comes along, there's no reason for it (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Call for Nominations: 2007/2008 LDraw.org Standards Committee (LSC)

  Bricksmith patches
