Travis, here is a low res version of your sphere primitive. I moved the type 5 lines from the edge into the other sphere primitives, as to prevent them from showing up when it placed against a torus. I could move the edge lines back into the file if (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

(...) of (...) Where (what part) has a (hemi)sphere against a torus? Also, wouldn't you *want* the edge lines to display in this case (when viewed at the proper angle)? ROSCO (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

(...) I have two comments. The first is that while I prefer my sphere tesselation to the standard one (and presumably you do also :-), a number of people prefer the standard one. I think that a vote of some sort might be in order before replacing (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

I thought the idea was that ALL these primitives would have type 5 lines at the edges, but they would be extended in the tangent plane and thus only do half the job, (...) (...) He put in the type 5 lines at the joins between the eighth spheres in the n-8sphe files (where n > 1). So he put a set in the one join of the 2-8sphe.dat, 4 sets in the 4-8sphe.dat, and 12 sets in the 8-8sphe.dat. So instead of just being type (...) (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

(...) I'm an idiot, but I think I understand now. The larger *sphe.dat files must simply include of a bunch of 1-8sphe.dat instances as type 1 lines. So yes, you only need the type 5 edge lines in the 1-8sphe.dat file if it's made right. Don (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)
