For some unknown reason, part 2463 is pretty much an empty shell with no
bottom at all.

Hmm, I guess nobody cares about it but me.  :)  I recently found out that it
was officially discontinued as a LEGO brick (as compared to just not having
been used for a while), which was a bit disappointing, since at the time I
needed eight black ones as key structural components for a MOC.

It has edge lines on the bottom out in empty space, but no surfaces.

Yeah, I spotted those by chance in the 3D view when I was checking to make
sure the parts were lined up correctly.

Here's another problem I just noticed with part
<http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/6058 #6058>.

The yellow plate at the botto of the stack should be attached to the studs
underneath it, but they're about half a brick too low.  There appears to be a
mislocated subassembly, as there are a pair of artifacts sticking out of the
large center inverted slope face on the bottom.

I have posted a slightly improved version of 6058.dat to the Parts Tracker at
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/6058.dat
This does not solve all the problems with this part, but includes
- correct height alignment of studs at z=70 and the adjoining fillets
- realignment of bad quad on -x side of nose
- correction to fillets between z=90 and z=110 studs - they were angled the
wrong way
- change to internal floor where it changes from level to angled at z=70

But, there is much more to do on this part to meet modern quality standards,
hence I've added a "needs work" tag.

Hope this solves your immediate concerns.

Chris

(...) It does. I can see that there are still a few polygons missing around the two raised studs, but at least the height correction means it'll be easier to line up a part on them. (20 years ago, 25-Jul-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
