  Re: Rubber belts modelling

Hi Carsten, You are right, rubber belts have a round section, while my models have a square one. The real reason is that I used spring2dat that create square section. An advantage is that there are less facets and anyway belts are so thin that it (...) (22 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Rubber belts modelling

I just uploaded a Rubber Belt Generator utility, that creates DAT files for rubber belts taut between two pulleys. The rubber belt generated can have a square section or a round one, using cylinder primitive. This utility is available from (URL) (...) (...) That's real cool! Will you be considering the possibility of pulleys that are rotated 90º? (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Hi Kyle, (...) ??? For pulleys in the horizontal plane it is easy to rotate the generated rubber belt 90°. Or do you mean something different ? Philo www.philohome.com (22 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Rubber belts modelling utility

(...) I was imprecise. I was thinking of pulleys that are rotated 90º in relation to each other. It would look something like this in plan. (sorry for this bad diagram) Ox- "O" = big pulley "x" = belt "-" = pulley rotated 90º Or here's a good (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Hi Kyle, (...) ... but I should have understood ! (...) (URL) I'll have a look at it if I find time (trigonometry is a little more tricky here...) (...) Yes, I think so too - though the two axis rotation of straight parts might not be so easy. (...) (22 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
