Are the ridges (louvers) on the (3856) shutter just lines rather than

When I render this part in POV it appears as a smooth surface rather than
having any grooves. That of course looks funny up close. And of course, a
shutter is a key part of my latest Milton Train Works creation and I'm
trying to get the splash render right...

(at the same level of zoom in, the ridges on the 1x2 brick with grille, for
example, show up quite clearly as actual 3D things)

Or do I just have a back level part?

Thanks for any clues. PS, you'll NEVER guess what I used that last part (the
1x1x2/3 cylinder) I asked about to represent. :-)

I just checked this part out on my PC and I'm afraid you're right.  The
grooves are only simulated with lines.  Bummer!  But not too difficult to
fix, hee hee.  Let me know if you're interested in a 3D grooved part, and
I'll make one.

On ONE condition:  Tell me what you used the "1x1x2/3 cylinder" for!  To me,
it looks more like a dish, but to each his own...  Anyway, I'm very curious!

(...) Yes indeed, I am very interested. Thanks for offering! I wonder, is the smaller shutter the same way? (...) I'd call it a dish too, I have no idea why it's named that way. I used it for a toilet bowl! ++Lar (24 years ago, 25-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
