(...) That is not complete correct. If MLCad does not find a LDConfig.ldr then you have your old colours back, including the dithered range! I feel with the majority of the votes in this thread. Allow "Dithered" colours and looking forward for (...) (17 years ago, 9-Feb-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

(...) Unfortunately, MLCad 3.3's complete removal of support for dither colors (which incidentally breaks it for a number of existing official parts) makes this option less tenable. It's a bit ironic that most of the people speaking up in favor of (...) (17 years ago, 9-Feb-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

So, to expand a little on my earlier comments -- I think it would be reasonable, for now, to allow dithered colors1 in pattern/sticker parts and disallow RGB codes, with the thought that work would go forward on defining a texture mapping (...) (...) I would go for this option. I'm not a fan of allowing RGB values in official part files, I'd rather keep it to color codes. However, if there could be a standard for texture mapping patterns & stickers (and parts made by mixing multiple colors (...) (17 years ago, 9-Feb-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)
