Re: LDraw model of Spybotics programmable brick

(...) Hard to tell... I worked on it on and off during 15 days. I would say about 10 hours. Philo (16 years ago, 9-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Re: LDraw model of Spybotics programmable brick

That is some seriously talented work! Can I ask how long it took you to create it? Scott (16 years ago, 9-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Re: LDraw model of Spybotics programmable brick

(...) SNIP (...) Great to see that parts now on the PT. Thank you Philo! cu mikeheide (16 years ago, 8-Jun-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.robotics.spybotics, FTX)

LDraw model of Spybotics programmable brick

Linmix once said to me that he couldn't find a LDraw model of the (URL) Spybotics>... so I decided to cope with that beast. Here is the prevue: (2 URLs) The LDraw files are available from (URL) LDraw Parts Tracker>. Don't forget all the subfiles! (...)   Re: New Part: x784 Technic Gear Hailfire Droid Wheel

(...) Hello Amnon, You never submitted your Hailfire Droid Wheel to LDraw Parts Tracker, do you mind if I do so? (on your behalf of course!) Philo (16 years ago, 25-Apr-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

I like to draw your attention to the following parts that need some reviews. (URL) (16 years ago, 18-Apr-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Help preparing L(EGO)Draw parts

(...) (2 URLs) file size reduced from 80 down to 59 KB (there could be done some more rect.dat substitution on the front). stud geometry was completely wrong as it is was in the other parts I had fixed. w. (16 years ago, 16-Apr-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

(...) If it's any help, (URL) this torso DAT file> already contains borders which leave a nice rectangular opening in the front. Just delete everything that follows those lines and you may have an easier time adapting your images to fit the (...) (16 years ago, 7-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

(...) Thanks Steve, I took your recommendation and tried Quad2Dat. I can see what you mean about it being buggy (and incomplete). It is too bad development on it didn't continue it seems to have a lot of potential. For simple images I can see it (...) (16 years ago, 7-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

(...) My understanding is that you need to save often, with changing filenames. It apparently sometimes crashes during save after it has already clobbered the file. --Travis (16 years ago, 7-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

(...) Neat! (...) For further work on custom torsos, I recommend grabbing the program called Quad 2 Dat. This is a fairly easy 2D program, made specifically for people creating LDraw patterned parts. The main problem with Quad2Dat is that it's (...) (17 years ago, 6-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

  Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

I have been working at creating some custom Minifig Torso DAT files for LDraw. I should preface everything by saying that I am NOT an LDraw Parts author. All of these were created by essentially taking a plain torso file and applying these like a (...) (17 years ago, 6-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX) !

Re: Is anyone working on 32745?

(...) I have send my first efforts already by email. cu mikeheide (17 years ago, 30-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Is anyone working on 32745?

(...) Cool. We might actually get this very difficult part done. It may take a while but I'll try to get the inside bit mostly complete (easier than the outside). Then we can split the work into the harder bits... Tim PS. We should probaly shift to (...) (17 years ago, 28-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Is anyone working on 32745?

(...) I have never done in this way, but it sounds good. I think first step should be a mokup for the overall dimensions and the connection (axle hole etc) points. The fine tuning (ribs in frontside etc) should then be divided into areas for you and (...) (17 years ago, 28-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Is anyone working on 32745?

(...) Do you fancy a divide and conquer approach? If we each did different sections it might make it more possible. At the least it is a fairly easy part to subdivide. Tim (17 years ago, 28-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Is anyone working on 32745?

(...) I wanted to start that part some month ago, but at a closer look I decided to not doing it because it is a real challenge. But I want that part very, very much. So please go ahead and make my dream come true. cu mikeheide (17 years ago, 27-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Is anyone working on 32745?

Hi all, Just thought I'd check to see if anyone was working on part 32475 ((URL) It's a horrid part to work on so I'm hoping someone has but realise it's probably unlikely. Thanks, Tim (17 years ago, 27-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Inappropriate(?) use of stud.dat in 30035.dat

(...) You are right, but there are only three lines of code (easily created with MLCad) that would be substituted with such a new primitive. I think it is not worth. cu mikeheide (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Inappropriate(?) use of stud.dat in 30035.dat

(...) OK, I sent an updated version to the tracker admins, and BFCd it while I was at it. --Travis (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)
