Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) OK. My edges already were counterclockwise. :) Umm, for inside outlines (inlines?) to be clockwise, that's 'clockwise' from a global view, right? If so, then my inlines are already clockwise. But I don't know which ones are inlines, and which (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) Err, reverse course. I peeked at the autotrace source and it says in pxl-outline.c "Outside outlines are traced counterclockwise". So if you want to make things easier for me, do it that way. ;^) (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) I'd imagine so. I don't actually use Cygwin. I use the (URL) mingw> version of gcc on Windows because I don't want to worry about the Cygwin unix compatibility DLL. (...) It's not too hard to detect holes while you're vectorizing edges, just (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) Yep, thanks for doing that. Then I turned around and installed Cygwin, so now I probably have gcc available -- I think. (...) Heh. Yeah, considering how raw my edge-construction code is, a few small math errors wouldn't be noticeable. And the (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

(...) Hey, that's pretty cool. Did you use the Triangle executable I built? I replaced it with a new build containing the math fix Travis mentioned, but forgot to mention that I did so. I guess whatever you used must've worked though. (...) How does (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

non-lego rendering using various LDraw tools

I've been messing around with a rendered scene for a music CD-R. I'm really happy with how it turned out, so I thought I'd share it. More on-topic, I used a number of LDraw tools in the creation process. (URL) Rendered CD booklet cover>> Bonus (...) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas, FTX)

Re: Cockpits, and Facets, and Ninja, oh my!

Re: Cockpits, and Facets, and Ninja, oh my!

(...) Hmm, yes it would have. So would other parts with weird curvy surfaces like the flame/seaweed piece (considering the fact that the first dragon's body parts have all been completed, I'm surprised that I can't find that part anywhere). (...) Aack! This would've been a nice part to (URL) 3D Scan>. But short of FedExing the part to me at my hotel (as I don't have one on hand) that's probably not gonna happen..   Cockpits, and Facets, and Ninja, oh my!

I downloaded copies of LDraw and MLcad a few days ago, and I've been building digital versions of a few of my models, but I ran into a couple of problems: 1. Using MLcad, I couldn't get (URL) this piece> to close flush to (URL) this piece>. There (...)   Spiral staircase study  [DAT]

I've been working on a castle tower for which I need a spiral staircase. Unfortunately, I sold off my HP sets that had the prefab spiral staircase parts, so I had to come up with something myself. Here is what I have so far. In the ldraw file, I (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas)

Re: Straight moving with only one rotation sensor  [DAT]

I' built a similar bot, but the wheels are free-turning. Additionaly, the wheels are pressed down, so that they always have contact to the floor.   Re: Straight moving with only one rotation sensor

Hello y'all- Does anyone out there know where I can get discontinued lego sets (mainly the autochassis set 8860&65) at reasonable rates here in Ontario? Thanks. (22 years ago, 10-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas)

Straight moving with only one rotation sensor  [DAT]

Hi I saw in the LEGO Mindstorms Web Page that many people made their robots with 2 motors go straight using one rotation sensor on each wheel and stopping the correct motor until both sensors were equal.   Re: why I love subfiles...

(...) I'm going to have to agree with Tore on this one. Subfile are useful for repeated patterns and "without faces" parts, to me, your example seems to use subfiles uneccesarily. -Orion (22 years ago, 1-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas)

  Re: why I love subfiles...

(...) Sorry, I don't get the message at all. In the example you gave, I see no reason for sub-filing at all. On the contrary, to me it looks like a typical example of very unnecessary subfiling.
