  LDLite on the LUGNET end

I'm stuck with WebTV access for the next several days, and of course I can't check out the posts to cad.dat. Would it be at all feasable to add an option to run LDLite on a .dat file at the LUBNET end and output the graphic file to the browser? (...) (26 years ago, 12-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

LUBNET... hmmm.. now where could that lead us???

(...) LUBNET.. hmmm... (jeff ponders a moment, needing a break from processing triangles into quads with edge lines and faces and determinants of 4x4 matrices to prove coplanarism of... aaaahhh...hhh!!!!!) LUBNET... Lego User Badass Network??? (...) (26 years ago, 12-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDLite on the LUGNET end

(...) If I understood Paul Gyugyi correctly, the planned Linux/UNIX version of LDLITE will output the data in PPM format. It is a simple task to convert this to GIF, obviously. I'm looking forward to the day! :-) Fredrik (26 years ago, 12-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Someday when/if there is a Unix version of LDLITE, it would be possible -- if it had an option to write a GIF file to STDOUT. --Todd (26 years ago, 12-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Ah but you don't need to compute the determinant. For 3D points A, B, C, and D represented as vectors, and AB is the line segment from A to B (or B-A): (AD x AB) . AC = det ( Ax, Ay, Az, 0, Bx, By, Bz, 0, Cx, Cy, Cz, 0, Dx, Dy, Dz, 0) Where x (...) (26 years ago, 16-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Oh geez, now I'm feeling guilty about spending time at work and with the family again... OTOH, I just got some cool hardware from www.bung.com.hk for gameboy development, but I should probably make a 2x4 show up on a Linux screen first. :) -gyug (...) (26 years ago, 20-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Paul, do you know how well ldlite takes advantages of 3D hardware (you should, but can you tell me)? Will it render faster with a card like a rivaTNT or does it only uses the Cpu? Paul Gyugyi a écrit dans le message (26 years ago, 20-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)
