You can convert a minifig file to full LDraw compatibility by running
LDLite with the -r<outfile> option. Just launch it from a command
prompt, something like:
C:\LDRAW\LDLITE>ldlite minifig.dat -rldmini.dat
The output file is written to the current directory, so you'd have to
copy it back to c:\ldraw\models.
I'll add an item to my ToDo to add a conversion step in the Minifig
Modeler.
