Yes, it involved becoming a local NT administrator and all..

As for LDraw freezing, is there any error message?  Does a window come
up at all?

There are some general PIF-setting hints in LDAO's readme.txt.  There
are also some trouble-shooting suggestions at the James Jessiman
Memorial.  Have you tried any of those?



I played around with it for a while; may not have tried them all yet.
E.g. I succeeded to launch LDlite instead of Ldraw, but it doesn't come up
with the proper dat-file.
