The news Matt refers to is that I posted a message to the Apple Student
Developer mail list (see http://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/studentdev)
mentioning LDraw.  I have received several replies from students interested.  I
also have received some replies from Apple developers...

When I went to Apple's World Wide Developer Conference last year, I got the
chance to visit Apple's Cupertino campus.  In the inner courtyard, through an
window, I saw an office full of Lego models and the note "I can quit playing
with Lego's whenever I want to."  So I know that there would be a few people
interested in LDraw.  It wasn't til just a week ago that I had the bright idea
to get developer's involved through the channels I get other developer
information.  At least now is better than never.

I am submitting requests to other groups too.  I have emailed the Omni Group
(http://www.omnigroup.com/).  If they get involved, you will probably see so
many LDraw tools on the Mac that everyone's head's will spin.

I just don't think anyone in the Mac developer community knows about LDraw or
has thought of doing anything like it.

Anyway, I am putting stuff together and trying to spin some heads.

Now if they made LDraw FOR THE MAC!!!
I would actually create instructions and post them.

Hey Todd,

Just a quick note to let you know that thanks to some recent legwork by
James Reynolds (my cohort in LDMC http://homepage.mac.com/ldmc) we're
finally a couple of steps closer to or hope of a Mac based editor.

We'll post more info when it's available.

Matt

Now this is the type of news I LOVE to hear! Viewing .dat files is nice, but I'd
rather try making them than viewing them. Keep up the great work!
