Hi Chris -
I can't answer your primary question because I'm not experienced with
animation.  But, the second....yes, there are multiple animation tutorials
in the works.  They are coming soon, I promise.  But some other things have
to get in place before they are released.

There are several people here who are experienced in animation who can
answer the clock question.
