Re: [Part] Tile(?) 2X2 Octagonal w/ Clip —John VanZwieten
(...) Well, maybe it was a little bit of a poke. But you know I'm with you on this one. (...) it (...) It does allow some swivel, but it's more like the clip on the 1X1 Tile. Fortunately it's been identified as a roadsign, so it has a natural home. (...) (26 years ago, 29-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: [Part] Tile(?) 2X2 Octagonal w/ Clip —Todd Lehman
(...) Maybe since there are already at least 2 non-road-sign variants of these new road sign elements, maybe they would go in some category similar to the 2x2 and 4x4 clip-on flags, which come decorated as Jolly Roger flags (URL) as checkered flags (...)      (...) Don't forget the new Space Port panels. Basically, they're (badly designed) long flags. Steve -- My system has antennae, flags, and roadsigns all under one category. But maybe I'm just weird. (26 years ago, 29-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)

Steve Bliss wrote in message <36b22827.8221840@lu...et.com>... (...) Hmm... I think there's a definite pattern there. All these elements use the 'Rod Connection System.' And sorting by connecting system is a very valid sorting mechanism. Kim (26 years ago, 30-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: [Part] Tile(?) 2X2 Octagonal w/ Clip —Todd Lehman
(...) The whole 'Rod Connection System' is pretty large, though -- and most things probably wouldn't belong in that category. Here's a non-exhaustive (but fairly complete) list of all LEGO elements with rod, rod clip, or rod hole characteristics... (...) (26 years ago, 30-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)

(...) I have a rilly good memory and I type rilly fast. ;-) No, seriously, I just cut & pasted from here: (URL) another fun list: (URL) BTW, I'm not saying that sorting by connection system is the best way to do (...)           Re: [Part] Tile(?) 2X2 Octagonal w/ Clip —Steve Bliss
(...) I could see 'Clip-On' for 'things with clips' (rather than parts that are primarily clips). But it makes more sense to put flags and roadsigns together in a category. I just have no idea what one-word description would be fitting. Steve (26 years ago, 31-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: [Part] Tile(?) 2X2 Octagonal w/ Clip —Steve Bliss
(...) Whoops. That's not quite right -- the Space Port panels are flat panels with grab-bars. No clips. Steve (26 years ago, 1-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: [Part] Tile(?) 2X2 Octagonal w/ Clip —Terry Keller
(...) Get the part finder. It is a _great_ little utility. I find I'm using it more and more every day. -- Terry K -- (26 years ago, 30-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)
