L3P check: Row zero all Zeros ? —Jason S. Mantor
Hi, I've got a part that I'd like to submit to the parts tracker so I ran l3p -check on it. I fixed all the poly's that had bad vertex orders, but I'm stumped as to how to fix the "row 0 all zeroes" errors. I did a search on lugnet and found a (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

Jason S. Mantor wrote... (...) The "row 0 all zeroes" warning relates to the "Singular Matrix" problem. Because PovRay is a ray tracer, it needs to calculate transformations backwards and therefore it calculates inverse matrices. If a matrix is (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

Hello (...) Yep . right.. sometimes. ;).. Especially when it is a more complicated part with subpart you get rarely a response. And even in the Lugnet parts tracker people sometimes seem to be scared of subparts ;). Greetings Carsten (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

(...) I usually try to click on the [DAT] link and spin the parts around in ldglite looking for obvious problems. I can't do that when the subfiles are in different posts. I have to download all the subfiles and then put them in the right places to (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

(...) erhm; the LDraw.org Parts Tracker, you mean? ;) (...) Good point. For LUGNET parts-posts, I'd definitely recommend MPD posting vs. several separate posts with one file per post. Any program that can handle the [DAT] hyperlink can render MPD. (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

Hello Steve (...) of (...) Duh! Yes.. sorry ;) (...) Hm.. i wonder if it is useful at all to have one or the other thing. Still the directories in a new part should be set right.      (...) It's not that hard but could this idea make it easier? When I open a _part_ or a _subpart_ in the PT it saves the temporary copy to C:\WINDOWS\TEMP. If subparts were saved to c:\WINDOWS\TEMP\S then I would not need to _download_, but could (...) (23 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

(...) That would make it easier. But I don't think the server can control the file location during download -- it's up to the browser (and the user). Steve (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)
